Shamokin Area swim team’s season came to a close at districts on March 2, with both teams finishing in the top half in Williamsport. The Indians, who are led by Coach George Zalar and Coach Jessica Wolfgang, both had a great year.

On the boys side, the team placed third  in the 200-yard medley relay with a time of 1:54.     The team consisted of Oscar Moraski, sophomore; Eric Zalar, Vance Shiko, and Anthony Feudale, all seniors. Some notable performances were Anthony Feudale taking 7th place in the 100-yard freestyle, and the 400-medley relay taking 5th place.

On the girls side, freshman Carly Seedor took 8th place in the 100-yard freestyle. Liela Bellis, junior, took a prominent 6th place in the 100-yard backstroke. To conclude the season, the Shamokin girls also took third place in the 400-yard freestyle. The team consisted of  Carly Seedor, freshman;  Alexis Bressi and Kamryn Kramer, sophomores; and Madalyn Roman, junior.

“The season went extremely well,” said Moraski. “One of the best ones we’ve had.”

Along with Moraski, many other swimmers are excited for next year.
