Hellraiser raises…well… hell

One of the best genres, as well as a lot of people’s favorites, is the horror genre. Horror movies are constantly being written and produced and become especially popular during the Halloween season. In October this year the new Hellraiser was officially released in the United States.

Directed by David Bruckner, this R-rated horror film gains inspiration from Clive Barker’s 1987 horror classics. The whole plot of this movie surrounds itself around a puzzle, which causes demise and destruction to take place all around it.

This 2022 remake of Hellraiser is already favored by many in the horror movie community due to the multiple components it embodies. Horror films provide human curiosity to the morbid and threatening dangers. Hellraiser is a great example when it comes to summing up fear and excitement.

To begin with, the plot was clearly written and planned fairly well. There were no empty gaps, thus leaving little-to-no amount of unanswered questions. Along with the scenario, the actors assigned to their given characters played their roles astonishingly. They were the perfect fit, causing the movie to have emotion and remain catchy throughout all the seconds leading up to the ending.

The characters’ designs were also extremely inventive and realistic. This most importantly compromises the demon characters, who of course had to look unsettling to provide that feeling of ominousness in a horror movie. They were straight out fiendish and inhumane, with no doubt succeeding in giving the viewers a scare.

There are a good amount of factors in which one may be able to personally take from this movie, such as learning a new lesson for their life. Hellraiser gives examples throughout the story of faulty things in life. It is shown that not everything appears as it may seem, there are liars and cheats who take others for granted in order to get what they want. Even if Hellraiser at first glance may seem to be frightening, it gives a great instance of the previous statement, showing that not everyone can, nor should they be trusted.

Hellraiser, a 2022 film, comes to a conclusion, closing with a for-the-most-part, stress-free ending. While at the close of this film, there was a lot of loss for people, as well as normality, viewers may be relieved knowing that there will be no more, fairly fulfilled with the finale.
